Data stored on your device

• Your lesson progress, badges, practice log, settings, saved rhythm patterns and songbook are stored only on your phone.
• If Android's automatic backup is on, this data may be included in the device backup in your Google account. You can manage this in Android settings.
• The app has no ads or user tracking; your data is not sold.

Anonymous usage statistics (optional)

• They are sent only if you allow it; the app asks once, on the second launch. You can turn them on or off in Settings at any time.
• What is sent: a random ID created by the app (not linked to your account, email or device), the date, language, app version and counts such as which tools were opened how many times that day and how many minutes you practised.
• No name, email, audio, video, text you typed or location is sent. The data is only reviewed in aggregate to improve the app and is deleted after 400 days.
• If the app hits an error, the same permission also sends an automatic error log: the short technical error message (emails, links and long numbers are removed on your phone), which screen it happened on, how many times, the app version, the device model and Android version. These logs are used only to find and fix bugs and are deleted after 90 days.
• When you turn statistics off, the counts on your phone and the records for that ID on the server are deleted.

Account (optional)

• Creating an account is not required; the whole app can be used without one.
• If you create an account, your email address, username and password are stored with our account service Supabase; your password is not stored in plain text.
• Your progress, practice log, badges, rhythm patterns and songbook are backed up to your account so they can sync between your devices.
• You can delete your account in the app via Home → Account → "Delete my account" or at https://gitarist-okulu.pages.dev/hesap-sil.html; deleting it permanently removes all your data on the server.

Microphone

• The microphone only works when you open a feature that uses it (such as the Tuner, Mic Coach, Sight-Reading, Stage Mode or "answer/follow by playing").
• Sound is analyzed in real time on your phone; it is not recorded, stored or sent anywhere.

Camera (Video Mirror)

• The camera only turns on when you tap "Open camera" in Video Mirror or start the "Finger posture (beta)" check.
• Videos you record are stored only on your phone, in the app's own storage (up to 6 videos); they are never uploaded, never shared and cannot be exported from the app. You can delete them in the app at any time; uninstalling the app deletes them all.
• In the finger posture check, the video is processed live on your phone by the hand model built into the app; it is not stored and is never sent anywhere.

Transcription Studio

• The audio file you choose is opened and analysed only on your phone; it is never uploaded. Only small data such as the chord chart, markers and your notes is stored on your phone.

AI teacher

• The questions you write to the teacher, the last messages of the chat and short progress info such as your program week are sent through the app's server to Anthropic's AI service to generate answers.
• We recommend not writing personal information (name, address, phone, etc.) in your questions.
• If you report an answer with "Report", the related question and answer are forwarded to the developer for review.
• The number of daily questions is limited to prevent abuse.

Practice recording analysis

• Recording analysis happens entirely on your phone; audio is not stored or sent anywhere (it's kept temporarily in memory only so you can play it back in that session).
• If you choose "Ask the teacher", only the measurement results (numbers like score, deviation and chord clarity) are sent to the AI teacher.

Teacher and class (optional)

• If you join a class with a code, its teacher can see your username, a progress summary (weekly and total practice minutes, streak, number of completed lessons and theory lessons, XP, last practice date) and the status of your assignments. Your email address is not shown.
• You can leave a class at any time; when a teacher deletes a class, the class, its assignments and memberships are deleted from the server. Deleting your account deletes this information too.

Friends and ranking (optional)

• If you use the friends feature, your username, friend code, weekly practice minutes and streak are stored on the server and are visible only to friends you add. Your email address is not shown to friends.
• You can remove a friend at any time; deleting your account also deletes this information.

Communication between users

• The app has no way to send messages, audio, video or photos to other users. Other users only see your username and score (league, friends list, class).
• Usernames and teacher texts cannot contain insults, sexual words or contact details (phone, links, e-mail, social media); they are filtered automatically on the server.
• You can report or block a user in the league and friends lists. Reports are reviewed by moderators; your name is not shown to the reported person. Names that break the rules are changed and accounts may be closed.

Weekly leagues (optional, requires an account)

• In a league, up to 20 people in the same group only see each other's username and weekly XP. Your e-mail is never shown.

Children

• The app is for music students of all ages and accounts are optional. Anyone under 18 should create an account together with a parent or guardian. There are no ads and no user tracking.

Notice under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK, No. 6698)

• Data processed: only if you create an account, your e-mail, username and app progress; and, if you use optional features such as teacher mode, leagues, friends or the AI teacher, the data those features need as described above. Without an account no personal data is sent to a server; the anonymous usage counts sent if you allow it cannot be linked to a person.
• Purpose and legal basis: creating your account and providing the service (performance of a contract, KVKK art. 5/2-c), keeping the service secure and preventing abuse (legitimate interest, art. 5/2-f) and complying with legal obligations (art. 5/2-ç).
• Transfers: data may be processed on servers abroad operated by our service providers (Supabase: account and data hosting; Anthropic: AI teacher; Google and RevenueCat: purchases). Such transfers are made under KVKK art. 9.
• Retention: as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your data on the server is deleted.
• Your rights (KVKK art. 11): to learn whether your data is processed, request information, ask for correction or deletion, object, and claim compensation. Requests: tunayildirim1905@gmail.com. Requests are answered within 30 days at the latest.

Purchases (Premium)

• Premium purchases are made through Google Play; your payment details never reach us.
• The RevenueCat service is used to verify purchase status; your account ID (a random user number) and purchase information are shared with RevenueCat.
• You can manage and cancel the subscription in Google Play → Subscriptions.

Notifications

Reminder notifications are scheduled locally on your phone; no information is sent to a server.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling the app or clearing the app data in Android settings deletes all data on your phone. You can delete the chat history with the 🗑 button on the teacher screen.

Children

The app is intended for a general audience; children under 13 should use the AI teacher under parental supervision.
